(PRP) Platelet Rich Plasma

Frequently used in hospitals to accelerate the body’s healing process after surgeries, platelet rich plasma is a blood by-product that encourages clotting and healing. Advances in technology have recently allowed the use of PRP in dental offices. This is a safe and convenient option that uses plasma drawn from your blood to assist in the healing process.

Periodontics

Periodontal or gum disease is caused by a build-up of plaque on the gums. Plaque is a sticky colorless film of bacteria that forms on our gums and teeth. Plaque is the main cause of cavities and gum disease which hardens into tartar if not removed with thorough oral care.
When plaque is not removed, gums become irritated and inflamed. Irritated gums can then separate from the tooth, forming a space in between known as periodontal pockets.

Endodontics

Root canal treatment (also know as endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity has been neglected long enough to affect the pulp of the tooth, requiring the canals which contain the nerve of the tooth to be cleaned out. A root canal may also be needed when a tooth has undergone an extensive restoration that affects the pulp of the tooth, or if the tooth experiences trauma that affects the root.

Dr McMillan expertly fixed my crowded teeth with Invisalign and I am so happy to see I have my smile back after so many years. He was attentive and understanding when I had concerns and I always felt heard throughout the process. I cannot recommend Mint Dental enough. Very friendly staff, immaculately clean office, state of the art…

Very friendly staff, immaculately clean office, state of the art equipment, eco-friendly environment, able to handle mercury removal, easy to schedule, never a long wait time, and... Netflix to keep you entertained while they do their thing – because you can never watch the same Star Trek movies over and over quite enough. I have had some negative experiences at past dental offices. I was impressed with their friendly staff; clean, modern building, and efforts to understand my past dental experiences and discussion around ways to improve my experience at their office. My favorite dentist I’ve ever been to!

I've never liked a dentist practice enough to say much about it before. That was until I started coming to Mint Dental. I really can't express how great they are. The staff is awesome, the place is clean and nice and did I mention they have vibrating chairs and warm neck pillows? They make going to the dentist not so bad. I highly recommend! One could say the whole experience was a gas.

In my most recent visit to Mint, I came in to have three wisdom teeth extracted. After a highly traumatic experience with an extraction a few years ago at a clinic I'll not name here, I was a little concerned about feeling the procedure despite local anesthetics. I've been coming to MDW ever since and can fully put my trust in having a comfortable and humane experience. They gladly put me on gas, and I got to watch a Louis c.k. Stand up special on Netflix, which killed most of the time it took to extract all three teeth. I was laughing so hard and maniacally throughout the experience, I even brought my dental assistant to tears along with me. One could say the whole experience was a gas. Anonymous
