Caring for Your Oral Health

Mint Dental Works’ services focus on caring for your overall oral hygiene, and maintaining the health of your teeth, gums, and mouth. This includes diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of a number of dental conditions, diseases, and disorders that can affect not only the teeth and gums, but the jaw and face as well.

Regular preventative care is the key to a healthy mouth, so we recommend scheduling cleaning/exams at least twice a year. This will give our team the opportunity to catch minor oral health issues before they turn into major dental health issues.

Fillings

Fillings are performed to remove decay and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because new material fills the hole after removing the decay. The filling material used in our office is a resin composite material that will match the natural color of your tooth. Caught early enough through regular dental examinations and x-rays, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly.

Sealants

A sealant is a thin resin coating painted on the tooth surface to fill in the narrow grooves and pits of a tooth that are difficult to clean. In some cases these uneven areas in a tooth are small enough that the bristle of a toothbrush cannot adequately reach and clean the trapped plaque.

Dental Bridges

Bridges literally bridge the gap created when teeth are lost. Typically a bridge consists of one or more artificial teeth (pontics) which are held in place by two dental crowns (abutments). A bridge is a created by reshaping existing teeth on either side of the missing tooth/teeth to prepare them for crowns.

Single Visit Crown

Mint utilizes CEREC® 3-D technology to provide metal-free, custom ceramic crowns, veneers and other dental restorations in just one visit!
A dental crown renews the shape, comfort, and function of a tooth damaged by deep decay, severe wear, or a fracture. In many dental offices, crowns require multiple of appointments over the period of several weeks. Older methods require that an impression is taken and sent to a lab where your crown is fabricated.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer screenings can help to identify cancer early, when there is a greater chance for a cure. Our team isn’t just concerned with the care of our patients’ teeth, but their overall health as well. Approximately 42,000 Americans are diagnosed with oral and throat cancers annually. When cancer is detected and treated early, the long-term outcome is significantly improved.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays, also known as radiographs, are an essential part of any dental care treatment plan. They are both diagnostic and preventive, allowing us to diagnose hidden oral care issues. By utilizing newer digital X-ray technology, Mint Dental Works reduces our patient’s exposure to radiation up to 85% less than film-based radiography. In other words, this is less exposure than a few hours of sunshine.

Exams and Cleaning

Regular, professional dental cleanings and exams are essential for maintaining a healthy mouth. The American Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist at least two times per year to ensure optimal oral health. Semiannual appointments will help you learn more about how to thoroughly care for your teeth and gums and help detect early stages of periodontal disease.

Excellent Experience at the Dentist

I have had some negative experiences at past dental offices. I was impressed with their friendly staff; clean, modern building, and efforts to understand my past dental experiences and discussion around ways to improve my experience at their office. I would recommend this office to others who have had fear of the dentist. I enjoyed being seen in a clean, healthy building as well. Brooke B,, 04/10/17 (Published on RateABiz)

One could say the whole experience was a gas.

In my most recent visit to Mint, I came in to have three wisdom teeth extracted. After a highly traumatic experience with an extraction a few years ago at a clinic I'll not name here, I was a little concerned about feeling the procedure despite local anesthetics. I've been coming to MDW ever since and can fully put my trust in having a comfortable and humane experience. They gladly put me on gas, and I got to watch a Louis c.k. Stand up special on Netflix, which killed most of the time it took to extract all three teeth. I was laughing so hard and maniacally throughout the experience, I even brought my dental assistant to tears along with me. One could say the whole experience was a gas. Anonymous

Warm, relaxed and beautiful

My first visit to Mint Dental Works today was extremely positive, friendly and unlike previous dental visits at other practices. Dr. Jason McMillan and his team were welcoming, professional, down to earth, thoughtful and engaging. From registration to x-rays and the examination, I felt comfortable – a first for me – and my normal fears dissipated. This was due to the high level of customer service and care taken by everyone who greeted me. Plus the surroundings are warm, relaxed and beautiful. I'm delighted Mint Dental Works was recommended to me. Helen L, 01/23/17 (Published on RateABiz)

Clean Teeth!

It feels so good to leave the dentist with clean teeth. Also, they have nice gear (computerized x-ray cameras are great), hygienists seem experienced, and are generally skilled, fast, gentle, and focused. My daughter (age 6) actually gets excited when she has an appointment coming up – I don't know if it's the TV, the sweet attention she gets from the staff, or the trinkets they let her pick out at the end. Who am I kidding, it's probably all of the above. The team is really friendly, and they seem to have a solid, effective workflow going. I generally leave Mint feeling like I got really focused attention. The doctors seem really experienced, and genuinely happy to help. I'm happy to learn they are onboarding a woman dentist now, too. Thanks, Mint, and keep up the good work! Gabe B, 7/3/2017 (Published on RateABiz)

I wanted to tell you about my experience with Mint Dental

I wanted to tell you about my experience with Mint Dental. Setting up my appointment was very easy, and I liked the many reminders I received before my visit. The whole staff was skilled and gave me great service, which made me feel at ease while I was there. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could even purchase an electric toothbrush during my last appointment. Overall, I had a great experience at Mint Dental and would suggest them to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly dental office. T. Graves
