Invisalign is a clear aligner system used as an alternative to traditional braces. A series of clear, custom-made, aligners gradually move teeth a little bit at a time, eventually correcting the teeth and creating ideal alignment. Even better, the clear aligners are removable which means brushing, flossing, and eating your favorite foods remains simple and comfortable!
Our team will evaluate your teeth and talk about any problems or goals you have for your smile. Detailed information will be gathered including: digital impressions, photographs and radiographs. This information is used to create a 3-D model of your teeth and a prescription for custom-made aligners. The Mint Dental Works team then maps out a complete treatment plan showing the gradual realignment that will move your teeth from their current position to where we want them to be.
The “treatment set-up,” a computerized representation of your teeth before and after treatment, is available for viewing after treatment planning. Once your digital plan is finalized, a series of custom aligners are made using a state-of-the art printing process. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan.
As your teeth get progressively straighter, you’ll move from one set of aligners to the next. Each set of aligners is worn full time, or 22 hours a day, for approximately two weeks. To ensure best results, you should only remove your aligners while eating or brushing your teeth. Designed with aesthetics in mind, these aligners are barely noticeable and won’t have an impact on your daily routine.
After wearing each aligner set, results will be noticeable as your teeth begin slowly adjusting and aligning to your desired smile. Periodic check-ups with our office are required so your progress can be evaluated and you can be given the next set of aligners. This sequence will continue until you have achieved your new, improved smile. 🙂
