Insurance Information

Navigating the ever changing landscape of insurance can be a frustrating adventure. Your friends at Mint are here to help you.

Mint Dental Works is in network with Delta Dental Premier & United Concordia Elite insurance plans, but we accept most dental insurance plans that permit you to go out of network. We work diligently to assist you in maximizing your benefits, but it is important that our patients are educated about the limitations of their insurance. Most people struggle to understand that dental insurance operates very differently than medical and auto insurance policies. These types of insurance cover the expenses of unexpected occurrences, not routine events for which you can plan. Dental insurance, in contrast, emphasizes coverage for routine services (exams and cleanings) and offers little coverage and sometimes no coverage for treatment. You can expect the carrier to reimburse a specific percentage of your treatment fee. Generally speaking, the higher the premium, the higher the reimbursement. Insurance companies do not guarantee payment on claims and reserve the right to make payments based on their contract guidelines as well as the estimation of “Usual and Customary Rates.”

Any verbal information obtained from your insurance carrier is not a guarantee of benefit payment. Each insurance plan is unique and coverage is subject to numerous factors including: eligibility on the date services are performed, plan limitations and/or exclusions, plan maximums, and deductibles. While we call to verify your initial eligibility and benefits with your insurance carrier, we recommend that the patient reviews their benefit coverage with the insurance company. It is also the patient’s responsibility to alert our office if there are any changes to insurance coverage prior to treatment. As a courtesy to our patients, we will assist you and do our best to obtain reimbursement from your insurance for any service performed. However, the patient is ultimately responsible for ALL fees regardless of insurance coverage.

If you have additional questions about your benefits please don’t hesitate to talk to our insurance coordinator.

You guys are great

You take good care of my teeth. I trust you. I love the work Dr McMillan did on my front teeth to make them look so lovely and yet natural. I believe that is called cosmetic dentistry. I have recommended you – no second thoughts on that!! Roberta B., 05/18/17 (Published on RateABiz)

Mint is Fresh

To be honest, my wife convinced me to come to Mint. I thought it looked a little fancy for my taste at first, but now I admit that I am sold. I've been there for basic cleaning, some cavity filling, nothing too crazy, happily. Everyone in the organization is very friendly, professional, proactive, and thorough. I recognize the same faces every time. I can tell it’s a pretty well managed practice. Prices seem fair, 5% discount to pay cash or check. The Dentists are professional, and still genuine and relatable. Everything is clean and updated, including the chair side manner. For basic cleaning, you get the option of a hot neck pillow, and/or massaging chair. Why wouldn't I? For anything more in depth than cleaning, lay back and watch Netflix on the ceiling. Going to the Dentist is still probably not going to be your favorite thing to do, but I've never been to a better Dentist than Mint, and don't plan on going anywhere else anytime soon. Clean Teeth!

It feels so good to leave the dentist with clean teeth. Also, they have nice gear (computerized x-ray cameras are great), hygienists seem experienced, and are generally skilled, fast, gentle, and focused. My daughter (age 6) actually gets excited when she has an appointment coming up – I don't know if it's the TV, the sweet attention she gets from the staff, or the trinkets they let her pick out at the end. Who am I kidding, it's probably all of the above. The team is really friendly, and they seem to have a solid, effective workflow going. I generally leave Mint feeling like I got really focused attention. The doctors seem really experienced, and genuinely happy to help. I'm happy to learn they are onboarding a woman dentist now, too. Thanks, Mint, and keep up the good work! Gabe B, 7/3/2017 (Published on RateABiz)

The Best Dental Experience Ever

If you're afraid of the dentist or just plain don't like going – go to Mint. They are all so friendly, professional, helpful, and go out of their way to be of service to you. From massage chairs to neck pillows to being able to watch your favorite show on Netflix while getting a cavity filled – they provide it all. Thanks, Mint, for ending my ten year long fear of dentists and making my teeth look and feel better than they ever have. Going to the dentist has never been so enjoyable. Warm, relaxed and beautiful

My first visit to Mint Dental Works today was extremely positive, friendly and unlike previous dental visits at other practices. Dr. Jason McMillan and his team were welcoming, professional, down to earth, thoughtful and engaging. From registration to x-rays and the examination, I felt comfortable – a first for me – and my normal fears dissipated. This was due to the high level of customer service and care taken by everyone who greeted me. Plus the surroundings are warm, relaxed and beautiful. I'm delighted Mint Dental Works was recommended to me. Helen L, 01/23/17 (Published on RateABiz)

One could say the whole experience was a gas.

In my most recent visit to Mint, I came in to have three wisdom teeth extracted. After a highly traumatic experience with an extraction a few years ago at a clinic I'll not name here, I was a little concerned about feeling the procedure despite local anesthetics. I've been coming to MDW ever since and can fully put my trust in having a comfortable and humane experience. They gladly put me on gas, and I got to watch a Louis c.k. Stand up special on Netflix, which killed most of the time it took to extract all three teeth. I was laughing so hard and maniacally throughout the experience, I even brought my dental assistant to tears along with me. One could say the whole experience was a gas. Anonymous
